Pluto Rising spins together new wave, pop, retro soul, and reggae creating an irresistibly upbeat dance party. They play mostly original songs - many detailing a space-opera love saga - with a splash of familiar covers to sing along to. The band is based in central Vermont. The instrumentalists consist of Christiana Athena-Blackwell (songwriter, vox and keys), Tamsen Turner (vox) Michael Scott Duplessis (guitar, keys), John Littleton Tyler (bass, vox, songwriting), Nick Sherman (keys, songwriting), and Karl Haas (drum set). The group has played Camp Meade, The Waterbury Arts Fest, the Plainfield Opera House Concert Series, Hugo’s, the Bent Nail Bistro, Feast and Field, The Marshfield Bandstand Series, The Barre Labor Hall, and more.
